Educational Service

The Jerónimos Monastery/Tower of Belém Education Service is designed to help teachers get the most out of the historic contexts, no matter what subjects they teach. Indeed, a visit to these monuments is not just a special opportunity for the teaching of history but can also provide attractive experiences for students from many other areas.

Guided tours:
The Jerónimos Monastery/Tower of Belém Education Service organises guided tours for school groups from Year 7 upwards. Tours must be booked in advance for the following starting times: 10.30 a.m.; 12.00 noon; 2.30 p.m.; and 4.00 p.m.

Themed visits:
- The Nativity at the Jerónimos Monastery
- St. Jerome
- Iconography in the Portals
- Heroes and Poets in the Monastery
- The Monastery's Architects
These visits, which are aimed specifically at the senior public, are organised every Monday and Wednesday (except in the months of June and August) at 10.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. They must be booked in advance.

Tactile tour for the visually impaired:
